Chinatown Comes Alive
The past to life with three interactive installations – disguised as seemingly ordinary posters.
Using interactive video and motion sensing technology, the Rickshaw Puller, Samsui Woman and Street Hawker surprised unsuspecting tourists with their hilarious antics when activated. Each gives visitors nuggets of information on the area's heritage.
These installations, the first of their kind in Singapore, are meant to engage visitors by blending digital media and storytelling, so tourists can learn more about Chinatown's rich culture, history and heritage.
Like interactive tour guides, they even posed for selfies with tourists, and gave away customised maps with bespoke trails tailored to their interests, taking them on a journey into the heart of Chinatown.
