The misconception that museums are unchanging archives to history is one of the reasons why people assume history is “set in stone”, “written”, and “boring”.

Truth is, history is always being (re)written. Our public dialogue around it is what keeps history alive.

By using AI to “fill the gaps in history” and answer “what if” questions, we got the attention of youths who are more interested in the future than the past to speak up – or even “make history” on social media with their imaginative comments. 

Our intention for AI voice and imagery to eclipse the human effort behind our campaign turned AI into a provocative tool that evoked a sense of solidarity amongst Singaporeans.
