Most cybersecurity ads are fronted by established authority figures, but people hate being lectured.
In 2023, over S$135.7 million was lost to online scams in Singapore. In response, Starhub and the Singapore Police Force decided to fight fire with fire, by creating the first-ever Scam Masterclass.
Conducted by a real, ethical hacker scamming real victims in real-time, the episodic two-minute series offered viewers an insider look at actual scamming trends, and practical tips to defend themselves. At the end of each episode, all the scammed money was returned.
